How do I learn the rules?

Tap the ? button on the main menu — the rules are built into the app. The full version, including every table rule you can switch, is on the Rules page.

Which mode should I pick?

Podkidnoy (thrown-up) is what most people mean by Durak, and it is the default. Simple is the gentlest introduction: one attacker, one card at a time. The Perevodnoy (transfer) modes add passing the bout on, which makes a crowded table much more dangerous.

Why are some of my cards greyed out?

Because they cannot legally be played right now — the wrong rank to throw in, or too low to beat the attack. Turn it off with Settings → Gameplay → Highlight playable cards if you would rather work it out yourself.

How do I pass a bout on instead of beating it?

You need one of the Perevodnoy modes (Settings → Table rules → Game mode), and a card of the same rank as the attack. Play it and the bout moves to the next seat. In plain Podkidnoy there is no passing on, so the option never appears.

The opponent took my cards — why can I still play?

That is the rule, not a bug. When the defender presses Take, the bout is not over: everyone else may keep throwing in cards of ranks already on the table, and the defender picks up all of them. Press Enough when you are done piling on.

My game disappeared — can I resume it?

A single-player game saves automatically. Choose Resume game in the main menu. The save lives on your device, so deleting the app also deletes the save.

How does multiplayer work?

Choose Multiplayer, enter any display name, then either create a room and share its code with friends, or use Quick match. Empty seats are filled with computer players when the host starts the game. No account is needed.

I lost my connection during an online game.

Reopen the app and rejoin — your seat is reserved for a while and the game continues where you left off. If the room has already expired, start a new one.

“Could not reach the server” in multiplayer

Check that your device is online and that your network does not block WebSocket connections (some corporate networks do). Single-player always works offline.

How do I change the language?

The game follows your device language (English or Russian) by default. You can override it in Settings → General → Language. The card indices change with it.
